HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
The Financial Analyst has a critical role that contributes to the Agency’s financial foundation. The position collaborates with and supports leaders in geographies, service lines, and programs to grow and be financially viable. The Financial Analyst supports financial decision‑making by preparing and helping negotiate budgets for proposals for grants and contracts. The Financial Analyst supports Agency‑wide budgeting and planning by rolling up individual grant and contract budgets across multiple dimensions including geographic area, line of service, revenue type, and funder.
This role conducts in‑depth analyses of all revenue and cost sources and uses the analyses to support decision‑making and adjustments to ensure net financial results are favorable. This position specializes in proposing, managing, and budgeting federal and state contracts and cost reimbursement funding sources. The Financial Analyst also acts as a financial educator and trusted partner to operational leaders—delivering financial insights in a clear, jargon‑free manner and providing “the why” behind results to strengthen trust and mutual understanding.
This position has a dotted line reporting relationship with one or more geographic district directors and line of service leaders and serves on one or more district or line of service leadership teams. The role is accountable for meeting the timeliness, accuracy, and service commitments outlined in the FP&A Service Agreements, while prioritizing communication quality and customer service in all interactions.
Manage the annual planning and quarterly forecast processes for cost reimbursement contracts and others in the assigned portfolio of responsibility
Analyze and provide financial alternatives to manage cost reimbursement contracts and others as assigned
Partner with program and geographic operations to improve performance and achieve short‑ and long‑term financial objectives, providing timely and thorough support
Support and participate in negotiating contracts to ensure the financial interests of the Agency are well represented
Implement standard key metrics and performance measures for cost reimbursement programs and others as assigned, operating company goals and metrics that focus on key business drivers (financial and non ‐ financial) to support long‑term performance and strategic objectives
Prepare and maintain financial reports and models that measure program and contract performance, evaluate new opportunities or cost‑saving initiatives, and analyze trends in revenue, cost, pricing, and profitability across contracts, lines of service, regions, and funders, while improving processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency
Prepare financial analyses on assigned projects and operational initiatives as directed by the Finance Manager or FP&A Director
Clearly communicate financial results and variances in a way that is accessible to non‑financial leaders, explaining “the why” behind the numbers
Work collaboratively with district leadership and other partners to deliver information that is timely, accurate, and meaningful, consistent with FP&A Service Agreements
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as the needs of the organization change
This position manages processes and interacts with district and program leaders. It does not directly supervise staff
HOW YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT:
Proven analytical skills to translate financial numbers into clear insights and practical recommendations
Advanced data modeling and Microsoft Excel skills
System savvy and data curious
Deep understanding of GAAP
Project management
People savvy; connector and partner
Passion for relentless improvement
Strong communicator of ideas and concepts, with ability to adapt explanations to both financial and non‑financial audiences
Customer service orientation demonstrates patience, respect, and professionalism when working with others, even when questions are repeated or complex
Ability to build and maintain trust with partners by providing transparent, accurate, and timely financial information, while also fostering mutual understanding
Flexibility to manage recurring responsibilities while responding effectively to ad‑hoc requests and shifting priorities
Minimum of 3 years of financial analysis and financial modeling
Government grant and contract revenue and cost modeling
Direct experience with data modeling
Knowledge of process redesign and reengineering
Not‑for‑profit or healthcare industry experience
Cost analysis or cost accounting
Power BI report building and dashboard development
