This position reports to the Director, Data Center Services Center of Excellence.

Role Overview In this role, you will lead FWT, installation, commissioning, testing, and handover activities on‑site, acting as the single point of contact for the customer. You will manage on‑site presence throughout the project, ensuring coordination and smooth execution of all work activities, and showcase your expertise by planning, scheduling, and coordinating service resources.

Responsibilities

Plan project on‑site activities with the Project Manager, including necessary local resources, equipment, and milestones.

Coordinate agreements between customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization, and policy.

Oversee all on‑site activities from receiving the assigned site area to handing over to the end customer, ensuring successful execution of start‑up, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning activities in line with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.

Represent the project by building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and local organizations such as authorities, banks, and suppliers.

Ensure a detailed and up‑to‑date construction H&S plan is in place for each work package, compliant with the ABB H&S plan.

Ensure all on‑site resources are properly trained on company health, safety, and environment policy and promote H&S considerations to project partners.

Have authority to suspend activities on site in case of HSE violations and take necessary steps to protect ABB employees and others from risk.

Ensure correct handling, storage, and installation of ABB‑delivered equipment; coordinate on‑site storage and shipment logistics for timely delivery.

Manage subcontractors hired by ABB to ensure quality and progress meet delivery dates and agreed standards.

Control project cost for site work, monitor actual spend against forecasts, estimate final cost, manage petty cash, and have delegated authority for local purchasing within agreed limits.

Maintain documentation, ensure it is updated, and that the document handling system is used for construction work on site.

With HR support, ensure the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed.

Guide, motivate, and develop direct and indirect reports within HR policies; coordinate local accommodation, site facilities, office equipment, etc.

Qualifications

BS Engineering or BS Management required.

5+ years of field service project experience with an electrical OEM, leading long‑term field assignments and delivering field quality assurance focused on procedures and implementation.

Ability to travel 80–100% of the time within North America and be away from home for extended periods.

Strong understanding of site commissioning and oversight of engineered solutions, including IEC61850 projects.

Ability to develop and implement test, start‑up, and commissioning plans with third‑party Cx agents.

Experience leading start‑up teams responsible for ABB and GE LV and MV electrical equipment, relays, and PRN networks preferred.

Experience leading multidisciplinary site teams of electrical field engineers and technicians as well as third‑party contractors preferred.

Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Benefits & Salary While base salary is determined by qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $98,700 and $157,920 annually and is eligible for a short‑term incentive plan/annual bonus.
