Lead Material Specialist - FLL
Summary
The Lead Material Specialist assists the Manager, Materials in the day‑to‑day operations of the department. Responsibilities include scheduling, time‑card calculations, training, inventory level maintenance, and collaboration with other departments and stakeholders to ensure an adequate supply of aircraft materials.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Certified Forklift operator
Minimum two (2) years of experience in an airline stores environment
Authorized to work in the United States under the Immigration Act of 1986
Pass a criminal background check
Preferred Requirements
Experience with inventory management and rotation in an airline context
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Successful completion of in‑house training, IATA, or DOT‑approved Hazardous Materials Training
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Knowledge of barcoding and computer inventory systems
Driver's license and willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Travel may be required to deliver parts to other stations
Job Duties Receive, sign for, process, and safely handle aircraft maintenance‑related parts, materials, equipment, and tooling; enter data into the inventory management system and process associated documentation. Transport parts and materials between locations, sort and count items, and prepare labels and ticketing documents. Issue materials and process returns; assemble kits for heavy maintenance work, perform physical inventory counts, and rotate shelf‑life limited parts. Reorganize warehouse layout, re‑label bins, and coordinate shipping with vendors. Maintain a clean and organized store environment and perform data entry, inventory audits, inspections, and reconciliations. Monitor and update stock levels and coordinate adjustments with maintenance, purchasing, and other departments. Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements Regularly stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and use hands and fingers to operate tools. May lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. Work various shifts in a 24‑hour situation. Exposure to extreme noise, temperature, wind, and light fluctuations. Sit at a computer terminal for extended periods. Wear personal protective gear. Some travel may be required.

Starting Wage Starting wage:
$24.84
per hour. The starting wage is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
