Salary: $3,631.00 - $4,533.00 monthly (equivalent to $43,572.00 - $54,396.00 annually) – Full‑time
Locations: Nashville, TN; Columbia, TN Departments: Transportation, Davidson County, Maury County – Region 3, Administration – Business Solutions Procurement Section
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
OR Associate’s degree and two (2) years of work experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, or a related field
OR high‑school graduation and four (4) years of work experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, or a related field
Experience may substitute for education on a year‑for‑year basis
Relevant additional coursework may substitute for required work experience on a year‑for‑year basis
Overview Under general supervision, responsible for procurement work of routine difficulty. Entry‑level Procurement Officer class: purchasing, issuing, and storing materials, supplies, and equipment; assisting departments or major sections. Differentiated from Procurement Officer 2, which handles greater scope and complexity.
Responsibilities
Analyze purchases to ensure compliance with departmental, state, and federal guidelines and justify purchases through documentation.
Assist with vendor research and product comparisons; help write specifications for competitive bidding.
Prepare routine service contracts and review purchase orders for accuracy and proper justification.
Receive supplies, monitor vendor payments and invoices, and follow up on late shipments.
Prepare various records and reports, including letters to vendors, purchase orders, service contracts, and other operating documents.
Maintain current and accurate inventories of supplies and equipment; tag state property as needed.
