What to Expect The Passive Safety Crash & Sled Test team is responsible for executing, analyzing, and reporting on crash and sled tests within required program timelines, primarily focusing on vehicle development, regulatory certification, and consumer protection crash testing. Team consists of Test Engineers and Engineering Technicians, specializing in Vehicle & Mechanical, Instrumentation & ATD (Anthropomorphic Test Devices, or crash test dummies), and Imaging.

This position will work to support full vehicle and subsystem crash and sled tests for vehicle development and global regulatory certification. This role is focused on configuring, instrumenting, calibrating, repairing, and collecting data from Anthropomorphic Test Devices (ATDs, or Crash Test Dummies), and the instrumentation that measures Injury Assessment Reference Values (IARVs).

What You\'ll Do

Configure, instrument, and calibrate crash test dummies for upcoming testing

Collect and review data from tests, root-cause any issues that appear in data channels

Diagnose and repair sensors (accelerometers, angular rate sensors, potentiometers, load cells, temperature and humidity loggers)

Maintain dummies and test equipment; validate equipment functionality, performance, and consistency

Maintain ATD log system and regulatory calibration paperwork for tracking purposes

Train other engineering technicians on using test equipment and working with ATDs

Build equipment required for new dummy test modes and new dummy types

Assist in formulating proper test procedures that adhere to worldwide regulations

What You\'ll Bring

Demonstrate strong attention to detail with regards to small parts that make a large impact

A minimum of 2 years repairing small electronics or working in a test laboratory, or educational equivalent

Ability to solder and repair small electronics and sensors

Solid understanding of electrical and electronic principles

Ability to operate a wide variety of hand and power tools, gauges, meters, and repair equipment

Experience with data acquisition systems and instrumenting samples for testing. Experience with DTS hardware and software preferred

Metal fabrication skills preferred, but not required

Expected Compensation

$24.40 - $50.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
