Maverick RF Solutions
DESCRIPTION
At Maverick RF, we design and field state-of-the-art antennas for the most demanding environments on maritime, ground, airborne, and space platforms. Our team fosters a culture that emphasizes technical excellence, innovation, and pride in our product. We look for people who thrive in a work environment that is highly collaborative, dynamic, and creative.
Candidates will be responsible for leading the RF design (including configuration, prototype, test, and documentation) of antennas and RF systems for aerospace and military applications. These applications include, but are not limited to, hypersonic, low-observable, and/or electronic warfare platforms. Additionally, candidates will be expected to contribute to the development of new and industry-leading antenna technologies. As such, this position requires expertise in both foundational and emerging technical principles, theories, and concepts along with a strong knowledge of the current state-of-the-art in antenna technology.
Throughout the design process, candidates will be expected to collaborate closely with internal, supplier, and/or customer teams to ensure the performance, manufacturability, and timeliness of system designs. Maverick RF places a significant emphasis on development through rapid, iterative analysis and prototyping. As such, candidates can expect to participate heavily in both design/simulation and prototype/test. As a technical representative of Maverick RF, candidates must be capable of fostering strong internal and customer relationships while accurately and succinctly presenting designs, analyses, and test results to discerning audiences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Developing innovative RF designs for custom antenna and RF systems
Leading engineering teams in support of major acquisition programs
Interfacing with suppliers and external customers as technical representative of Maverick RF
Generating technical memorandums and reports to support data packages, peer reviews, and external customer reviews
Preparing technical charts and representing the organization in design reviews and outside contracts
Creating and simulating electromagnetic models using standard industry tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, Feko)
Creating detailed artwork using standard industry tools (e.g., AutoCAD)
Documenting and releasing designs in PDM
Performing detailed manufacturing/environmental sensitivity analyses
Measuring common antenna port parameters (e.g., VSWR, complex reflection coefficient, coupling/isolation)
Conducting antenna range measurements to characterize both gain and phase as well as RCS
Writing detailed test reports
Researching internal and published sources for innovative solutions
Independently iterating designs based on simulation and test results
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field from an ABET accredited institution
Experience in antenna/RF system design
Experience using industry standard computational electromagnetic tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, Feko, SENTRI)
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD and Special Access Program (SAP) security clearances
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree with focus in electromagnetics or antennas
Experience designing military aircraft, subsystems, or components in a DoD environment
Experience in all stages of product development from conceptualization through development and production
Experience designing a breadth of RF systems/components including power dividers, couplers, feed networks, mode formers, filters, transitions, Rotman lenses, frequency selective surfaces (FSS), and radomes
Experience with antenna measurements, test equipment, and data
Experience with antenna range measurements to characterize both gain/phase and RCS
Experience using industry standard circuit design tools (e.g., Agilent ADS, AWR Microwave Office)
Experience using MATLAB or similar for data analysis, manipulation, and visualization
Active Secret or Top Secret / SCI security clearance
SECURITY CLEARANCE This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
