The Assistant Controller (Bookkeeping Manager) at Spectrum Association Management is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the bookkeeping department, ensuring accurate client financial records and providing guidance to a team of bookkeepers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the consistent, accurate delivery of accounting services for our customers.
Manage, lead, and develop a team of bookkeepers and other staff to ensure a consistent service product delivery.
Provide staff with ongoing development, positive motivation, training, and coaching.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with banking partners, vendors, internal staff, and external customers.
Execute autonomous, proactive leadership of the department and service delivery.
Manage daily activities of staff, reviewing employee activities for completeness, accuracy, and effectiveness.
Support fraud prevention efforts internally and on behalf of our customers.
Be available to commute to the San Antonio office for team collaboration and leadership meetings.
Qualifications
At least 8-10 years of solid leadership and management experience in financial services, banking, accounting, or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in accounting.
Strong leadership, motivational, and team development skills.
Attention to deadlines, accuracy, and proactive communication.
Experience managing teams of ten or more employees for at least six years.
Ability to thrive in a stable, award-winning culture.
