Mechanical Assembler I – 2nd Shift
Collins Aerospace, a RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. This role is a U.S.-based position located in Burnsville, MN.
Shift schedule: Monday‑Thursday, 3:00 pm – 1:30 am (training on the 1st shift daytime hours during the first 3–4 months).

Responsibilities
Maintain quality product standards with no defects.
Meet customer deadlines and expectations.
Ensure compliance with applicable elements of quality systems.
Participate in cost‑reduction plans and continuous‑improvement events.
Participate in audits.
Acquire applicable skill, knowledge, and certifications as required.
Inspect parts, apply coatings, label/box, and prepare for shipment.
Check parts for cracks, loose connections, faulty bonds, and faulty assembly.
Record test results in the testing log; route products for rework or salvage of usable parts.
Route reworked assemblies for testing, clean completed assemblies, and assemble parts according to blueprint specifications.
Test parts by connecting to test equipment, setting controls, observing readings, and checking instruments for malfunctions.
Set up and use equipment such as Ragen Assembly, Component Lead Former, Drill Press, Denison Hydraulic Press, Component Lead tinning, and S.M.T. Re‑flow.
Fabricate instrument parts through crimping, staking, and cutting where necessary.
Perform welding, soldering, item test and inspection, filler, and immersion testing once properly trained and/or certified.
Maintain materials, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Comply with all Raytheon Technologies rules and regulations, including Environmental Health and Safety.
Complete assigned tasks within the scope and skill level of the position and support department objectives to develop individual skills.
Check work methods and results for conformance to standards; re‑instruct as required.
Report to lead or supervisor on work progress, updates, and failures to meet quality standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications You Must Have
High School Diploma or GED.
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or refugee/asylee status).
Qualifications We Prefer
Manufacturing experience.
Career Readiness Certification (CRC).
Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and assembly instruction.
Ability to complete training modules associated with the job grade.
Ability to work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities and to follow safety rules and procedure manuals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail for safety and quality.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi‑task.
Teamwork skills to support capacity in a fast‑paced environment.
Intermediate computer skills (typing, navigating screens, learning new software).
Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to take direction from more experienced coworkers, leads, and supervisors.
