As a Bookkeeper, you will manage financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance through meticulous bank and general ledger reconciliations. You will handle accounts payable and receivable, post and update journal entries, and perform month‑end closings. Additionally, you will support administrative tasks, screen and route phone calls professionally, and collaborate efficiently with stakeholders across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations.
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Post and update journal entries accurately.
Perform month‑end closings efficiently.
Screen and route phone calls courteously and professionally.
Support the Administrative Associate team with various duties.
Quickly respond to requests and resolve open tasks.
Proactively eliminate obstacles before they become issues.
Ensure zero preventable errors in daily and recurring tasks.
Essential Skills
Minimum 1 year of experience in an accounting role in a professional business or financial services setting.
College degree in Accounting or equivalent business‑related experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and QuickBooks.
Detail‑oriented and methodical with demonstrated problem‑solving abilities.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Comfortable with learning and navigating new technology and software applications.
Ability to excel in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
A self‑starter who is proactive and independent.
Work Environment The position offers a dynamic work environment equipped with modern amenities such as stand‑up desks and dual computer monitors.
Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of Towson, MD.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.84–$33.65 per hour.
