This position pays between $18.65 - $20.50 based on experience
This position is located On-Site at OU Health in Oklahoma City, OK
Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
Interview uninsured/under-insured patients to determine eligibility for state Medicaid benefits or location Financial Assistance program.
Assist with application processes to facilitate accurate submissions and follow up on submitted applications to ensure timely billing or adjustment processing.
Review referred patients for program eligibility opportunities and coordinate the application process.
Communicate with patients to obtain documents required for the application.
Update insurance information and ensure timely posting of bills or adjustments.
Document actions and communication in assigned patient accounting systems.
Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements and share information with colleagues.
Develop and maintain relationships with Medicaid caseworker partners and collaborate with other revenue cycle departments.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in healthcare, interacting with patients regarding hospital financial issues.
Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments and denials (preferred).
Knowledge of patient insurance process for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification.
Knowledge of health insurance requirements and medical terminology or CPT/procedure codes (preferred).
Patient Access experience with managed care/insurance and Call Center experience (highly preferred).
Education: High School Diploma or GED; combination of post-secondary education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
Certifications: CRCR within 9 months of hire.
