ROME GROUP
As a growing nonprofit, animal welfare organization, we are seeking to add a fundraising professional to creatively and effectively cultivate donors to support our life‑saving mission.
Responsibilities Include
Support the development department by focusing on individual and major donor cultivation and stewardship.
Evaluate, plan, and implement off‑site community events, including attending events when possible, and working with the Community Engagement Manager to coordinate volunteers and adoptable animals to attend.
Work with the Development Director and Administrative Support Coordinator to send regular stewardship pieces to different segments of donors (i.e. monthly donors, adopters, major donors, etc.).
Maintain up‑to‑date records of monthly Hero donors, and coordinate specific appeals and stewardship pieces to support and grow the program.
Regularly maintain the donor database by importing donor information from outside channels, segmenting donors, reporting and other duties.
Solicit and secure corporate donations, sponsorships and collaboration opportunities.
Support the Development Director and Executive Director with miscellaneous Capital Campaign assignments.
Research and report on current trends in creative fundraising, stewardship, and story‑telling among similar non‑profits.
Assist with and attend fundraising events as needed.
Other fundraising duties as assigned.
Qualifications A passion for animal welfare and the Five Acres Animal Shelter mission. Strong attention to details and organizational skills. Previous experience working in non‑profit fundraising and development. Experience in direct donor communications, cultivation, and stewardship. High functioning knowledge of standard computer programs and ability to learn new software (Donor Perfect, Shelter Luv, Better Impact). Reliable transportation with the ability to be onsite, full‑time at Five Acres. Comfortable with verbal and written communication with donors. Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Ability to climb stairs several times per day. Ability to lift, scoop, bend, twist, and walk as part of essential job functions.
Work Environment Work is performed in an animal shelter. Potential for exposure to environmental factors such as zoonotic diseases, temperature variations, high noise levels, animal waste, hazardous chemicals, anesthetics, sharp objects, and potential hostile persons and/or dangerous and aggressive animals.
