Job Summary: JCS Solutions LLC (JCS) is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to support the Infrastructure Services team to maintain and optimize the Linux production environment. The candidate will be responsible for sustaining Linux servers as well as the conceptualization, design, development and implementation of new Linux capabilities. The candidate is expected to work well as part of the Systems Administration team using ITIL best practices as well as work independently on assigned tasks. Candidate is expected to support the entire service lifecycle from design through development to production, building and deploying Linux based systems in a virtual environment.

What you will do:

Provision servers and environments

Manage user access

Maintain servers in a virtual environment

Automation knowledge scripting in Unix shell and Ansible playbooks

Maintain and improve configuration management templates

Monitor system performance and respond to alerts

Establish and maintain NTP services in the production environment

Maintain satellite servers for the agency, software releases and patches

What you will bring:

STEM Bachelors degree with 8+ years, or STEM Masters degree with 6+ years of experience in IT operations working with Linux servers and Virtualization. Additionally, specific years of experience can be taken into account in lieu of degree.

Required Clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI

DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CySA+, GSEC, or CCNA Security) required

Experience with the following emerging technologies or an equivalent technology: Kubernetes, Open Shift, Containers, GitHub, Ansible Tower

Ensure compliance with security standards and practices aligned with DoD STIGs.

Experience with web servers and use of certificates

Open Source: Apache Hadoop, Zookeeper, Puppet

App Servers: JBoss, Tomcat, Jetty, NGINX, HTTP

2-3 years of experience with web server management and implementation; troubleshooting of websites, applications, and security implementations.

Understanding of virtualized infrastructure, server backup and restoral procedures, application of STIGs and cyber hardening approaches.

Experience with log file analysis

Experience with Red Hat Satellite tool for deploying, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

Understanding of Red Hat, provisioning, and patching, often using Satellite Capsules for distributed content delivery and local services like DHCP/DNS in large or remote setups. It centralizes RHEL management, improving security and efficiency by handling subscription management, content views, and system auditing from a single console.

Understanding of Red Hat command line tools: System Management, Manage RPM packages, and Package Management.

2-3+ years of Windows Server experience.

Red Hat Certification - Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) (Preferred)
