Base Pay Range
$55,000.00 / yr – $75,000.00 / yr
Job Summary The Cost Estimator is expected to quickly and efficiently develop, execute, track and communicate quoting activities as well as enhance value to the customer through the quoting and engineering processes. They will be a trusted advocate for the customer and the company, while embodying and being devoted to Vantage’s Core Values in all that they do.
Duties / Responsibilities
Assist in the development and administration of costing and overhead studies to support sales and sustainability strategies.
Listen and understand customer’s requirements, needs, and issues to form a solution.
Coordinate with Sales, Accounting, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Tooling to resolve differences between quoted targets and actual production outcomes.
Involve with the Engineering team on product concepts and R&D projects.
Ensure all quoted projects are correctly quoted and product requirements fit with internal processes or external resources both on timeliness and cost effectiveness.
Provide customers and prospects with pre‑sale technical assistance and product education.
Generate turnkey quotations, including labor, material costs, overhead, margins, and lead times.
Report on the status of quotes including turnaround times to generate quotes and success rates.
Respond to internal turnaround time goals, customer expectations, and customer feedback.
Determine, facilitate, and implement continual improvement of the quoting process.
Work closely with accounting to make sure product costing aligns with initial quotes.
Time on the floor to ensure production is aligning with quoted projects.
Work closely with project managers to ensure project is staying on budget.
Assist with the project management team when needed.
Work with purchasing to get multiple bids for purchased components.

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, preferred years of experience in estimating or related experience, required.
