Collections Management Database Administrator
Missouri Historical Society Missouri Full Time, Temporary Position Museums & Historical Societies, Archives & Libraries The Collections Management Database Administrator serves as the technical expert and administrator for the Missouri Historical Society’s collections management database. This position is responsible for the daily management and maintenance of the museum’s current Mimsy XG database. As a member of the collections team, they work to use the collections management database to improve processes, automate workflows, and increase efficiency for users. They also promote and support expanded use of the database for a wider array of museum projects. This position will play a vital role in our promise to share more of our collections than ever before – a key pillar of our mission and the We Are St. Louis campaign. The Administrator will help establish and enforce data standards and document data entry procedures in accordance with best practices in collections management and database administration. The Administrator will collaborate with staff on projects requiring electronic access to collection information and oversee database security. This is a temporary full-time position slated for 3 years.
