We are seeking an experienced
Survey Crew Chief
to join our growing civil engineering team in the Frederick, MD area. This role is ideal for a motivated field leader who takes pride in accuracy, teamwork, and delivering high-quality surveying services for land development, infrastructure, and site design projects.
What You’ll Do
Lead field survey crews for boundary, topographic, construction layout, and ALTA/NSPS surveys
Operate GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors to capture precise field data
Interpret plans, coordinate with project managers and engineers, and ensure survey work meets project requirements
Maintain field documentation, crew safety practices, and equipment readiness
Train and mentor junior field staff as needed
What We’re Looking For
3–5+ years of land surveying field experience, with prior crew leadership preferred
Strong working knowledge of survey methods, instruments, and field safety practices
Experience with Trimble/Leica equipment and survey data workflows a plus
Valid driver’s license and ability to work in outdoor field conditions
Positive, professional attitude and strong communication skills
