This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health – Inpatient Services, 220 Faison Drive, Columbia, SC 29203.

As the Registered Nurse, Institutional, under limited supervision, you will serve as Performance Improvement Liaison to assigned Inpatient Services facilities.

Responsibilities for the Registered Nurse, Institutional:

Oversee and monitor the development, implementation, and sustainability of the performance improvement program for assigned facilities.

Collaborate with facility leaders (Director, Medical Director, Nurse Exec., discipline directors) and others as necessary, to develop performance improvement targets for quality, service, and efficiency.

Participate in preparation for facility accreditation/regulatory surveys; represent Performance Improvement Department during survey process.

Serve as facilitator/performance improvement resource to inpatient services Performance Improvement Teams (PIT).

Maintain compliance with mandatory training.

Take a leadership role to establish and maintain efficient and reliable mechanisms for monitoring, analysis, and reporting of quality outcomes and process improvement initiatives in alignment with regulatory standards and healthcare best practices for quality and patient safety.

Take a major role in ensuring that data is collected, analyzed, and disseminated for performance improvement priorities identified by hospital leadership.

Take a leadership role to plan and implement compliance activities to meet accreditation and regulatory agency requirements to include TJC, CARF, CMS, and SC DPH.

Oversee Quality Goal, ICS, Core and Global Measures data collection, analysis and reporting as required.

Take an active role during on‑site surveys, assists with providing required documentation, information, coordinating focused sessions, and other related activity.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in nursing, knowledge of performance improvement functions.

Additional Requirements

Travel (short distances) among facilities.

Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Post hire, employees must have:

Licensure as required by appropriate professional board.

Ability to plan and self‑direct; effectively communicate through oral and written media; engage in consultative liaison role; apply analytical problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
