About This Unique Opportunity The boutique is situated at the bustling Bay Street Emeryville, a hub where health and wellness meet the vibrant Bay/African Intersection.
Responsibilities
Leverage onboarding and continuing education curricula to proactively tailor and deliver new modality and upskill training for the team using large group workshops, small team circles, and 1:1 formats (skills validation, shadowing, readiness sign‑off).
Conduct ongoing quality standard assessments in partnership with the Lead Massage Therapist.
Partner with management to address individual training needs and performance improvements.
Mentor and coach Massage Therapists to elevate consistency, technique excellence, and guest experience.
Support a culture of continuous learning and professionalism aligned with The NOW Brand Truths.
Share the healing power of touch to inspire and transform through the benefits of massage therapy.
Provide therapeutic massage through a variety of modalities (Prenatal, Sports, Stretching, etc.).
Maintain service rooms to standards; all supplies are provided.
Qualifications
Experienced Massage Therapist with strong leadership, mentoring, or training capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to coach and develop other therapists, or strong interest and proven leadership qualities.
Exceptional communication skills; comfortable leading small group workshops, demonstrations, and providing 1:1 feedback.
Excellent guest service skills.
Expertise in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Prenatal massage and other modalities.
California license/certification required; must present a license during the interview and maintain it throughout employment.
Availability during prime earning periods, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Role may be structured as full‑time or part‑time depending on availability and boutique needs.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand and perform well‑paced mobility for up to 6 hours. Time may vary by task.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill room resetting tasks and massage protocols; requires grasping, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
