OVERVIEW Insight Global is seeking a
Prototype Test Technician
to join a large public safety client in North Scottsdale. This organization designs, manufactures, and distributes various public safety equipment and total solutions for law enforcement and government agencies worldwide. Their physical products include tasers, body cameras, and dash cameras.
In this role, you would work with a team focused on an exciting new product and help to ensure prototypes are built correctly and tested thoroughly. Day to day, you will be responsible for building, serializing, and testing prototypes of future products. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with various engineering teams.
Responsibilities
Assemble and serialize prototypes and small fixtures.
Perform various tests on prototypes for functionality and performance, recording results accurately.
Record test results into a database (i.e., Excel, Sheets, or similar), including: Ballistic performance (muzzle velocity, accuracy, etc.), measure press fits, measure critical dimensions.
Collaborate with mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and QA teams to conduct additional tests as defined.
Maintain organized records of all test results and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in mechanical assembly and testing.
Proficiency in using MS Excel for data recording and analysis.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
NICE TO HAVE
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field of study.
Previous experience in ballistic testing or similar fields.
Familiarity with mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
Experience with quality assurance processes and protocols.
Compensation $25 - $28/hr. Exact compensation will vary based on individual skillsets, education, and experience level.
