Position Summary The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides specific nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The PCT is required to provide an excellent patient experience consistent with Relationship-Based Care.
Responsibilities
Prepare hospital room for new admission. Anticipate patient needs.
Respond to patient requests promptly and appropriately.
Perform patient rounding according to unit-specific guidelines. Provide intentional, patient-focused care.
Ensure environment is orderly and comfortable. Approach patients and families with compassion, offer emotional support, demonstrate courtesy, respect, professionalism, and respect cultural and spiritual differences.
Work in a secure department with access to medication storage areas.
Qualifications
Skills Required:
Effective written and verbal communication.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completed PCT training, CNA training, or equivalent program.
Certification: CPR.
Other: At least 18 years old, able to work variable shifts, holidays, weekends, and perform duties including lifting and transferring with proper body mechanics.
Preferred Requirements:
Current CNA Licensure.
Knowledge of hospital environment desired, previous hospital or health‑care related experience preferred.
