RN Charge Nurse - Nephrology Unit/Med Surg - Kings Hwy - Days Join to apply for the RN Charge Nurse role at Ochsner LSU Health. Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care. Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patients, families, and other groups or disciplines. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) and serve as a leader on the interdisciplinary team. Use data to evaluate and promote changes to achieve optimal outcomes. Support customer satisfaction and employee morale and the profession of nursing. Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and appropriate communication of services or procedures. Perform other related duties as required. Remains knowledgeable on current laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements that apply to the unit and ensures compliance. Qualifications
Education
— Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Work Experience
— Required: None. Certifications
— Required: Current RN license in state of practice; current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred: Certification in Clinical Specialty Area. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
— Proficiency in computers/software; effective verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills; good organizational and time management; good judgement. Physical and Environmental Demands
Physical demands include heavy work with potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue in a healthcare setting. May involve exposure to hazardous medications or waste.
