About the role As a Production support engineer, you will make an impact by implementing your experience with ITIL process and Java with any frontend technology (ReactJS, AngularJS, Vue, etc) to meet business requirements. You will be a valued member of the Engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, DevOps engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, secure, and efficient solutions.

In this role, you will: • A Production Support Engineer ensures smooth operations of live systems by monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues, acting as a bridge between users, development, and operations teams, focusing on stability, performance, and continuous improvement through root cause analysis, automation, and documentation to minimize downtime and enhance efficiency.

Key duties

Debugging Application Code and supporting servers.

Managing System upgrade and migrations.

What you need to have to be considered

7+ years in IT support, customer service, or technical support.

Experience with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).

Proficient in Java and any frontend technologies (ReactJS / Angular JS / Vue), SQL, Scripting (Python, PowerShell), AWS.

Software/Applications: Support tools (ServiceNow, Jira).

Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

Strong communication (written & verbal) & interpersonal skills.

Problem‑solving & analytical skills.

Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and adapt.

Process Knowledge: Understanding of project life cycles, continuous improvement, and process management.

Salary and compensation The annual salary for this position will be between $60,000 to $93,500 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
