Fall 2026 . Expectations include, but are not limited to, teaching, research, student advisement, university service,and continuing professional development. This position reports directly to the Chair of the Departmentof Psychology.

The Department of Psychology at the State University of New York at Oneonta is a thriving departmentof ten full-time faculty members with diverse research interests that create an engaging learningenvironment characterized by accessible faculty, teamwork, student research opportunities, andtechnology-supported classrooms. The department is committed to providing a solid knowledge basein psychology, fostering scientific inquiry and critical thinking skills, promoting competence in writtenand oral communication, and supporting ethical and social responsibility in a diverse world. We valueexperience working with diverse populations, inclusive teaching pedagogies, and multiculturalteaching experiences that support students' overall professional development.

Teach courses in developmental psychology and develop courses in area of specialization.

Maintain an active research program.

Participate in student involvements such as advisement, research supervision, and mentoring.

Provide service to the department and university.

Salary:

Requirements Required Qualifications:

Doctorate Degree in Developmental Psychology, or a closely related discipline. ABD considered;official confirmation of degree conferral by issuing institution by start of employment.

Additional Qualifications:

Experience teaching developmental courses in aging, geropsychology, end-of-life studies orsimilar areas.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to teach courses in the core areas of our curriculum, especially research methods andstatistics.

Evidence of teaching effectiveness, capability of initiating a suitable and productive researchprogram, and scholarly productivity.

Demonstrated experience involving undergraduate students in research.

Experience advising and mentoring undergraduate students.

Experience in teaching, mentoring, research, or service with diverse and/or multiculturalpopulations
