Mozaic (A Chapter of The Arc NY) is seeking a full‑time DSP Training Lead. The Direct Support Professional Training Lead is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering high‑quality training programs for DSPs to ensure compliance with organizational standards, state regulations, and best practices in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role serves as a subject matter expert and mentor, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Training Development & Delivery
Design and implement onboarding and ongoing training programs for DSPs, including person‑centered practices, health and safety, crisis intervention, and regulatory compliance.
Facilitate classroom, virtual, and hands‑on training sessions to enhance DSP skills and knowledge.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure all training meets state and federal requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
Maintain accurate training records and monitor DSP certification status.
Mentorship & Support
Serve as a resource and coach for DSPs, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting challenges in the field.
Collaborate with supervisors to identify training needs and performance gaps.
Program Evaluation & Improvement
Assess training effectiveness through feedback, observation, and performance metrics.
Continuously update training materials to reflect current regulations and industry trends.
Qualifications
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a DSP or in a similar role within IDD services.
Prior experience in training, coaching, or staff development strongly preferred.
Skills:
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to adapt training methods to diverse learning styles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems (LMS).
