You will be able to access and complete the application through “My Draft Applications” located on your Candidate Home page.**## Job Posting Title:Associate Director & K-12 Principal## Position Type:Professional / Unclassified## Department:LSUAM HSE - University Laboratory School (Rob Lyles (00004955))## Work Location:0106 Lab High School## Pay Grade:Professional## Job Description:**Position Overview**Under the direction of the University Laboratory School Director, the Associate Director & K-12 Principal is responsible for the leadership and development of all matters related to instruction, curriculum, assessment, faculty development, and educational support services. Serving as the school's Chief Academic Officer, the Associate Director & K-12 Principal will focus efforts on ensuring continuity in academic programming and services across all grades, K-12, in addition to supporting and fostering a laboratory school environment through educational innovation via development, testing and demonstration of new teaching methods.**Position Responsibilities**Academic Administration (30%)Advises and counsels the Director by providing oversight in all matters of instruction, curriculum, assessment, faculty development and all educational support functions; Through collaboration with the Director and senior leadership, responsible for the overall academic vision, strategy and quality of the school’s educational programs and student services; Develop, implement, and evaluate academic programs and services that support student learning and achievement – ensuring high-quality teaching and student success; Through collaboration with senior leadership team, oversee, create and maintain an environment of educational innovation through development, testing, and demonstration of new teaching methods; educational innovation through development, testing, and demonstration of new teaching methods; Promote curriculum development and coordination across departments and divisions of the school, ensuring K-12 continuity for all academic programs and services; Recruit, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and support academic staff to ensure a positive and productive work environment; Develop and manage the school’s academic budget and resources to ensure financial stability and support academic programs and student services; Recommends specific policies, procedures, plans, and programs for attaining instructional objectives, improving performance of students, divisions and faculty; Work collaboratively and creatively with grade-level/divisional leaders to ensure that the school’s curriculum and overall academic programs appropriately challenge and meet the needs of our students; Oversee all K-12 accreditation processes (i.e. Cognia); Monitors new and changing laws and regulations affecting the school in the areas of curriculum and instruction and prepares new policies and/or revisions for the Director and ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations related to education.Faculty Support & Development (20%)Design and implement an orientation and mentoring program for new faculty hires; Through collaboration with assistant principals, organize and support high-quality professional development opportunities that are focused, aligned to the school’s goals, and support effective teaching; Ensure that all necessary academic staff complete proper LEADS training and yearly certification assessments; Ensure fair, consistent, and accurate teacher evaluations across all divisions; Lead and direct the ULS Academic ‘Cub Council’ and sub-committees; reports out developments to the Director and senior leadership.Student Support & Development (20%)Oversee all student services and programming including, but not limited to, discipline, guidance/counseling, testing, and extra-curricular activities; Monitor multiple forms of student data to develop instructional and intervention decisions to maximize student achievement; Ensure that effective instruction maximizes growth of individual students and student groups, supports equity, and eliminates the achievement gap; Oversee (and attend) conferences with students, parents and teachers where individual student academic and behavioral problems are involved.Communication, Outreach, & Collaboration (20%)Communicate effectively with parents, students, academic staff, and community stakeholders to build and maintain positive relationships; Purposefully engage families and community members in meaningful student learning experiences; Provide regular and timely updates to the Director pertaining to general academic programs, activities, challenges, and points of pride; Work collaboratively with the senior leadership to ensure that we continue to promote and encourage a ‘one-school’ culture; Lead and implement K-12 collaboration with various LSU departments to ensure that ULS is utilized as a true laboratory space for research and faculty on campus;
