Summary
The MIL Corporation is seeking a
Lead Project Manager (Project Management, Senior Manager)
to support a Layer 1 infrastructure technical refresh effort for a DoD customer based out of Honolulu, Hawaii. This role provides overall project leadership and accountability, serving as the primary interface to the Government and leading execution across multiple technical and installation teams. The Lead Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end delivery, including planning, staffing, execution, risk management, and close-out.
This position is based out of our Lexington Park, MD office and currently requires an on-site schedule with 5 days on-site and significant travel and on-site presence in Hawaii during key phases of installation. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.
This position is currently unfunded and is being posted in anticipation of a future contract award and funding approval. We are proactively identifying and engaging with qualified candidates. While candidates may be contacted for pre-screening, any hiring decisions will be contingent upon funding availability and final program requirements or client approval.
Responsibilities
Serve as the Lead Project Manager with full responsibility for end-to-end project execution, integration, and delivery.
Act as the primary Government point of contact, managing priorities, milestones, risks, and issues.
Provide overall leadership and accountability, directing execution through two subordinate Project Managers, on-site technical leads, and subcontractors.
Lead and coordinate MIL engineers, technicians, support staff, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, staffing models, and performance metrics.
Oversee installation execution through defined cadence, metrics, and escalation paths, rather than continuous on-site supervision.
Travel regularly to O’ahu, Hawaii, to support planning, coordination, milestone reviews, and issue resolution.
Ensure installation activities comply with approved designs, DoD standards, and security requirements.
Manage cost, schedule, scope, quality, and risk, including proactive issue identification and mitigation.
Oversee project financials, deliverables, reporting, and documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Travel Frequent travel to O’ahu, Hawaii, is required to support planning, execution oversight, milestone reviews, and issue resolution. Additional occasional travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in technical project management or engineering leadership supporting IT or infrastructure programs
Demonstrated experience as a Lead or Senior Project Manager on large, complex projects
Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors
Strong background supporting DoD customers
Proven ability to manage cost, schedule, and performance in fast-paced environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and drive execution
Education Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline. A high school diploma with 6 additional years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with 4 additional years of relevant experience, may be substituted.
