# **Job Summary**# **Hargrove is currently hiring an Electrical Engineer to join our expanding team. We're looking for a licensed PE with experience in high-voltage systems.**# # Responsibilities: •Physical design of electrical substations utilizing applicable codes and client standards to include: oGeneral Arrangement oEquipment Layout oElectrical Layout oControl Building Layout oElevation Views oCable Trench oEquipment Grounding oLightning Protection oGround Grid oConduit and Cable Tray Drawings oBills of Materials oAC and DC Power Systems oArea Lighting •Ability to perform the following calculations, studies, and analysis oTouch and step voltages oSubstation Grounding calculations oPre and post energization harmonic studies oShort circuit studies oCalculate mechanical forces on bus bars due to fault currents oLoad flow, reactive power flow oHarmonic filter analysis oNERC compliance analysis oProtective relay coordination oTransient analysis oSlack-Span calculations for transmission line spans. oCorona performance studies •Develop equipment specifications for outdoor electrical switchyard equipment with operating voltages up to 345 KV •Review and integrate vendor drawings •Manage vendors to ensure all deliverables (drawings, materials, equipment) is delivered in a timely and quality manner per the agreed upon schedule •Create equipment and material specifications for procurement of engineered equipment with operating voltages up to 345kV as well as development of design scope and estimates to include but not limited to: oVacuum and SF6 Circuit breakers oMotor operated switches oGang operated manual switches oPotential transformers and Current Transformers oStation service transformers oInsulators oSurge arrestors oStation service batteries •Complete conceptual design for planning purposes •Prepare additional support documentation as required to assist procurement, construction, and operation/maintenance activities •Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect and deliver design and engineering data •Follow Hargrove QA/QC program to ensure all processes are being followed on all design packages •Mentor less experienced engineers and designers in substation design Qualifications: •Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering •10 years of experience in substation physical design **•PE license required** •Add software they should have working knowledge for Hargrove •Excellent document management and organization skills •Strong attention to detail •Ability to multi-task working on a variety of projects and deadlines •Strong communication and interpersonal skills**Physical Requirements*** Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.#LI-BH1# Hargrove CultureWe work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a “team mentality” so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
