Position Overview
A growing pharmaceutical manufacturing site is seeking a hands‑on Contract Automation Engineer to support commissioning, equipment integration, and plant automation activities during a major facility expansion. This role will work closely with the site Automation Lead and cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure reliable startup, integration, and ongoing automation support for manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, configure, and maintain Allen‑Bradley / Rockwell PLC systems
Support equipment commissioning, startup, and integration activities
Interface new and existing equipment with the site automation network and AVEVA PI historian
Provide day‑to‑day automation support for manufacturing operations
Ensure equipment is properly networked and integrated during startup and qualification
Support plant systems including automation, equipment controls, and environmental monitoring systems
Collaborate with manufacturing, CQV/validation, process engineering, packaging engineering, quality, and maintenance teams
Assist with resolving automation issues in a regulated manufacturing environment
Required Qualifications
2–3+ years of hands‑on industrial automation experience in a plant or manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of Rockwell / Allen‑Bradley PLCs and ladder logic
Experience with equipment controls, plant networks, and systems integration
Proven ability to troubleshoot automation issues in a production environment
Associate degree in a technical or engineering‑related field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated manufacturing environments
Familiarity with change control and change management processes
Experience with plant historians (AVEVA PI or similar systems)
