Responsibilities:
Architect and develop robust, scalable applications to enhance our core shipping platform.
Lead the full software development lifecycle, from conception and design to testing and deployment, focusing on performance and scalability.
Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to design and implement new features, enriching functionality and user experience.
Provide technical leadership in resolving operational challenges, working hand in hand with our support teams.
Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
Utilize your expertise in software architecture to drive decisions and innovations that optimize the platform's structure and efficiency.
Qualifications:
At least 7 years of commercial full-stack software development experience
Demonstrated expertise in software architecture, designing scalable systems, and optimizing performance.
Proficiency in engineering best practices, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, and producing clean, testable code.
Experience in high-traffic, SaaS, or e-commerce platforms is highly valued.
Experience with backend technologies like Java, Node.js or Rails is highly advantageous
Exceptional problem-solving skills, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent communication abilities.
A proactive approach to challenges, coupled with the ability to propose innovative and pragmatic solutions.
Bonus Points for Experience in:
Startup or small company environments
Node.js, React, GraphQL, AWS, high-traffic environments or high-throughput data analytics systems
