Set on a 36-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes the 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, providing short-term rehabilitation and long‑term skilled nursing care, memory care, respiratory and ventilator care, palliative and hospice care, social and medical adult day programs, and on‑site dialysis and infusion therapy. Sharing the campus is Gurwin’s Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences), our independent living community (Fountaingate Gardens) and Gurwin Certified and Licensed Home Care Services Agencies.

full‑time Lead Life Enhancement Associate.
You will be scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm and will be required to work one weekend per month.
PRINCIPLE FUNCTION The Lead Life Enhancement Associate coordinates all successful programs and activities for the community and members. This includes both internal and external programming focused on overall member well‑being and engagement.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain a professional manner, attitude, and dress at all times. Specifically maintaining a friendly and collaborative demeanor with peers, board members, applicants, guests, residents, and others.
Communicates all information to interested parties, including inter-office, guests, vendors, or others. Must be able to maintain a discreet manner and approach with sensitive or confidential information.
Accurately maintain all resident information while complying with confidentiality as per Gurwin Policy.
Independently able to self‑initiate job duties and functions while responding to immediate needs for the benefit of the community or members.
Demonstrates high‑level attention to detail with work completed, immediate workspace, and overall community presentation within their control.
Promotes teamwork amongst all supervisory and peer team members while being a positive working environment culture leader.
Facilitates life enhancing programs based on membership needs, requests and the schedule of such programs.
Participates in all activities and programs being offered from the Sales and Marketing team as directed.
Assists with health coaching and coordinating fitness programs specific to each member as requested.
Manages all community space access to ensure proper use and accessibility.
Maintains all equipment and supplies needed while communicating defects immediately to the Environmental Engineering department.
Manages/Facilitates all programs in the Fitness Center, Pool, Holistic Center, Art Studio, and other community areas.
Able to manage multiple requests and tasks at a time with varying needs.
Performs all other duties as requested or required by the Administration team.
Educational Requirements/Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent. Ability to understand and follow instructions while demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
Recreational/Activities experience in related field preferred.
Must be able to work varying hours and flexible to community needs.
