About the role The Behavioral Health Technician supports the organization by managing non-clinical participant needs and administrative functions. Reporting to the Clinical Program Manager and/or Executive Director, this role collaborates with the clinical team, ensures compliance with documentation standards, promotes participant safety, and facilitates daily program operations. The role may adapt to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
What you'll do
Oversee administrative functions in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
Ensure accurate recording of all participant notes in the EMR system.
Monitor participant safety throughout program hours.
Direct evening and daytime non-clinical participant group activities.
Support clinicians in leading group sessions.
Collect and label urinalysis samples.
Conduct daily breathalyzer testing for all participants.
Facilitate participant transfers to community support.
Provide one-on-one mentorship for participants.
Complete other administrative tasks as assigned.
Collaborate with primary therapist/case manager to ensure all necessary data is entered into the EMR.
Immediately report medical policy or procedure issues to the Medical Director/Clinical Director.
Assist the Executive Director and/or Clinical Director with additional duties as assigned.
Build strong collaborative relationships with participants, referral sources, and the community, representing Flatirons Recovery professionally.
Qualifications Required Qualification
High school diploma or GED
Ability to follow procedures, maintain documentation, and work in a team.
Awareness of client confidentiality, safety protocols, and basic legal requirements.
Basic computer skills, especially for EMR systems and reporting.
Preferred Qualification
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, human services, or related field.
Prior experience in residential programs, mental health, or substance use treatment.
Certifications such as CPR/First Aid, Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), or CAC I.
Familiarity with urinalysis, breathalyzer testing, or other clinical support tasks.
