We are searching for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Liver Intestinal and Gastrointestinal APP team for a limited term position. We are looking for someone who works well in a fast-paced and busy setting. In this position, you will provide medical care across the pediatric continuum from neonates to adolescents with myriad medical diagnoses and chronic conditions, including independent and interdependent responsibilities in the assessment, diagnosis, initiation of treatment, evaluation of interventions, perform procedures, and evaluation of outcomes. The APP will be involved in education, consultation, research, and evaluation of clinical practice at various levels.

We offer a pay premium of 12% on top of your base salary for working “off” shifts of nights and weekends.

Current Job Schedule Overview Self-Scheduling Model: Employees can manage their own schedules within a framework to ensure full shift coverage.

Shift Breakdown: Approximately 50% of shifts will be weekends and nights. (Day shift: 6:45 AM – 6:45 PM / Night shift: 6:45 PM – 6:45 AM)

Holiday Schedule: Each team member works one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) and one major summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day). Holidays are split evenly.

Scheduling Blocks: Schedules are planned in 3-month blocks, with at least 6 weeks' notice before the start of the next block.

Required Education and Experience

Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.

One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.

Required Credentials For NPs:

Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington.

Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner.

For PAs:

Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington.

Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

For All Providers:

Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration.

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment; American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.

Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support training and continuous maintenance of certification.

Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children’s Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment.

Any and all medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children’s will terminate automatically upon the termination of the individual's employment at Children’s. Termination of employment does not prohibit the individual from seeking medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children’s as a non-employee in any category for which the individual qualifies. Questions regarding medical or allied health professional staff privileges may be directed to Medical Staff Services.

Preferred

Two years experience in advanced practice provider role.

Two years experience in pediatric health care.

Compensation Range $131,821 - $193,872 per year.

Note: This position is currently eligible for an off‑shift premium of up to 12% which would increase the total compensation of this role by an additional $15,818.52 to $23,264.64 per year.

Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

Seattle Children’s offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
