Position Overview The Department of Economics at Boise State University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position starting Fall 2026. Applied research in the fields listed above is especially desirable. The position lasts two academic years, with the possibility of extension for a third year pending institutional approval and satisfactory job performance. The post requires a proven ability to teach principles courses. It carries a 3‑3 teaching load, potentially teaching multiple sections of the same course. The load is negotiable based on experience. Both fresh and seasoned candidates are welcome.

Salary and Benefits Salary: $105,000. The faculty contract is 9 months with pay and benefits distributed over 12 months.

Qualifications

PhD in Economics or closely related field. ABD candidates will be considered, provided the degree is completed by August 2026.

Demonstrated track record of successfully teaching face‑to‑face courses at the university level.

An active research agenda with potential for future publications in top‑tier journals.
