Position Overview
Diagnose and manage movement dysfunction and enhance physical and functional abilities. Restore, maintain, and promote optimal physical function, wellness, fitness, and quality of life related to movement and health. Prevent the onset, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities that may result from diseases, disorders, conditions, or injuries. Receives direction from: Department Director. The Physical Therapist, as an employed provider, is expected to comply with all Service Standards and Policies and Procedures of the Great Falls Clinic, including Customer Service Standards, Dress Code, and Physical and Mental requirements outlined and approved for this position.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from a Physical Therapy program
Experience
Prior experience within specific scope of practice, preferred.
License/Certifications
Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Montana
BLS Certification, required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards, and techniques of physical therapy.
Knowledge of how to use and maintain physical therapy equipment.
Knowledge of safety requirements.
Skill in writing reports, preparing correspondence, and keeping patient care records.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
Skill in identifying and recommending problem resolution.
Ability to evaluate utilization statistics and other data.
Ability to communicate clearly.
Dexterity and manual skill to operate computer terminals and related equipment by touch.
Physical ability to work on a computer terminal for extended periods.
Ability to operate office equipment to complete requests for medical information.
Able to manage a sometimes chaotic work environment and maintain a positive attitude towards healthcare team members and diverse patient populations.
Proficiency with equipment used to perform essential functions.
Requires full range of body motion including manual/dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Frequent standing and walking for prolonged periods; lifting of patients and equipment may be required.
Ability to facilitate prescribed treatment, including full manipulation and resistance; communicate treatment details to the patient and prepare doctor's report.
Exposure to clinical environment factors (diseases, substances, etc.).
