Overview

Provide Speech-Language Pathology Therapy and related services for patients while maintaining positive levels of interaction with facilities and clients in accordance with the principles and practices of Speech-Language Pathology therapy and Reliant Rehabilitation guidelines. Maintain professional conduct that represents Reliant Rehabilitation’s commitment to quality and service in all interactions with clients, including positive rapport with facilities and clients. Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding speech-language pathology therapy. Responsibilities

Provide, direct, or oversee speech therapy to optimize communication, cognitive-linguistic abilities, and swallowing skills of patients. Screen residents as appropriate and evaluate and treat patients referred by state-approved sources. Comply with state and federal guidelines regarding accurate and timely billing and documentation in the medical record. Establish and maintain effective, patient-centered interactions with patients, interdisciplinary teams, and other clientele. Directly supervise Rehab Techs in group and individual treatment to promote efficient resource use and develop clinical skills in accordance with State Practice Acts, OBRA, and Reliant Rehabilitation policy. Participate in building a strong Speech-Language Pathology program by integrating the therapyrole into the community and interdisciplinary treatment team; contribute to case management, administrative communications, and family conferences; maintain good working relationships with other health care professionals; refer to other rehabilitation team members as appropriate; develop and implement new programs/techniques; adhere to policies related to safety, orderliness, risk management, infection control, and emergency preparedness; uphold patient rights and privacy. Enhance clinical expertise, professional and management skills through interaction with managers, therapists, self-study, and continuing education. Maintain valid state licensure (where appropriate) and stay aware of issues related to the profession and healthcare environment. Understand relevant payment models and provide quality care with reasonable goals and outcomes within guidelines. Follow infection control procedures and environmental safety protocols within the community. Lift patients using appropriate biomechanical techniques as required; capable of lifting up to 30 pounds. Maintain confidentiality of Reliant Rehabilitation, community, and patient information. Conduct oneself ethically, legally, and responsibly; adhere to Team Member Handbook and Code of Business Conduct. Be able to travel between facilities during scheduled hours and work varied hours, including weekends and holidays. Attend mandatory meetings, trainings, and assignments as delegated; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of English for instructions, correspondence, charts, memos, and reports. Ability to work in a fast-paced, productive environment. Education/Experience

Master’s Degree, or equivalent, in Speech-Language Pathology. Computer Skills

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Basic Internet navigation skills. Certificates And Licenses

Valid Speech-Language Pathologist state license (where appropriate).
