$30.50 HOURLY $0.25 SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL FOR 2ND AND 3RD Job Description:

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

Perform proactive and reactive maintenance on all production equipment, buildings, and grounds

Use knowledge and skill to produce equipment and modify existing equipment to meet the needs of the production teams

Perform the necessary work with a minimum of direct supervision to identify and solve problems

Use communication skills to keep Team Leaders, Maintenance Engineers and fellow team members informed of their progress

Practice safe working procedures in accordance with safety policies of the company

Performs other tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications

Candidates will complete a maintenance assessment during the interview process which is not pass/fail

Qualified candidates will have either previous relevant experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, or related field, or training at an accredited technical school

Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

Ability to work in a team environment on a variety of complex projects

Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills

Willing and capable of standing in one spot on a work stand or at a work station

Climbing up and down 50 steps to enter/exit the facility and to/from production floor

Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds and frequently bend and twist

Working on short notice, 8 to 12 hours per day, several days in a row if required, overtime including weekends

Shift responsibilities may include day, evening, third shift, weekend, or 12-hour rotating shifts (3-2-2 pattern)

Working in average temperatures of 35-45 degrees or less

Working with raw, chilled, processed, or ready-to-eat meats

Following sanitation requirements (e.g., hair nets, beard nets, washing hands, no jewelry, no nail polish)

Following safety requirements (e.g., hard hat, ear/eye protection, vinyl gloves, uniforms, hand/foot protection)

Practice safe working procedures in accordance with safety policies of the Company

Preferred Experience

Welding and working with food processing equipment

Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Prior food manufacturing or food industry experience
