Join the Certified Pharmacy Technician team at Walgreens. Pay is based on skills and experience and will be discussed with your recruiter.
Base Pay Range $19.00/hr - $22.50/hr
Responsibilities
Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, following state and federal regulations and company policies.
Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Assist with and coach pharmacy technicians in operating pharmacy systems and cash registers when PTCB certified.
Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, greeting customers, offering assistance and resolving issues.
Support pharmacy department operations, including inventory management, quality improvement, cash handling, and communication with physicians.
Assist in administrative duties such as filling prescriptions, handling telephone calls, and processing manual claims.
Maintain relationships with local medical community and oversee pharmacy department upkeep.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the pharmacy technician training program.
Attend training and complete required PPLs, continuing education credits, and stay current with healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Basic Qualifications
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (unless in Puerto Rico).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
At least six months experience in a retail environment.
Prior work experience with Walgreens.
Good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
Good computer skills.
Knowledge of store inventory control.
PTCB certification preferred.
