We are excited to announce an opening for a
Nurse Practitioner Traveler in Seminole/ Orange County . As a
Nurse Practitioner Traveler
is responsible for providing continuing and comprehensive medical care and health maintenance to senior‑age patients. IMA’s Nurse Practitioner traveler exercises outstanding diagnostic services, cares for the patients, and provides them with appropriate healthcare services that meet state and national standards of care. Additionally, this person is also responsible for conducting comprehensive annual health assessments. These health assessments will involve closing quality care gaps, identification and documentation of chronic medical conditions, and education and counseling of patients regarding their conditions and lifestyle improvement.
This position will require the practitioner to travel to multiple locations and spend at least 50% of the time functioning as a primary care provider, with the remaining amount of time spent conducting annual health assessments.
Key Responsibilities
Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
Completes administrative assignments as requested by the Medical Director and partners with providers within the practice to ensure a collaborative environment.
Actively participates in monthly provider team meetings and performance reviews with the Medical Director.
Interviews, examines, diagnoses, and provides treatment to patients during routine check‑ups, for injuries and illnesses, and during annual wellness visits.
Orders appropriate diagnostic tests, interprets results and communicates appropriate treatment options to patients. May be referred to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
Reviews and maintains patients' records and medical histories in a timely fashion and records patients' progress.
May perform minor surgical procedures such as wound care, suturing, joint aspirations and injections, and administering immunizations.
Evaluates physical, cognitive, and emotional well‑being. Checks for and addresses common senior health problems (such as falls, memory concerns, depression, incontinence, pain, isolation, polypharmacy).
