Junior Designer
Parallax is an architectural design and planning firm located in Culver City specializing in independent school, college and university buildings. Our office is a collaborative studio environment committed to creating distinctive high-performance architecture for educators. We have been serving schools in the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley regions for over 30 years.
We are looking for a talented Junior Designer to support planning and design work on several school projects. Key qualifications include demonstrated design talent and experience with the design of institutional projects. Excellent team‑working and communication skills are a must as well as a solid working knowledge of Revit drawing software.
Primary Responsibilities
Work with the project team to produce presentation materials for client presentations
Support project design team as needed with project imaging, drafting and research
Build a variety of physical models ranging from overall project massing concepts to large‑scale architectural explorations
Qualifications
Professional degree from an accredited college of Architecture
High level of proficiency in building physical models (experience with 3‑D printing and laser cutting required)
High level of proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and 3D Studio Max
Experience designing and producing illustrative architectural presentations
Good verbal and writing skills
Well organized, reliable team worker with good interpersonal skills
Currently living in the Los Angeles area
Must be authorized to work in the US without need for employee sponsorship
