Position Overview
Deliver and differentiate specialized instruction to high-risk students (Grades K-8), customizing lessons and materials to address diverse learning styles and maximize academic progress.
Develop, implement, and monitor legally compliant and data-driven Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to ensure students meet appropriate educational goals and receive necessary support services.
Actively engage high-truancy students and their families to reduce barriers to attendance and foster re-engagement with education, demonstrating sensitivity to underlying challenges such as poverty and family insecurity.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement (Required)
Prior experience teaching in a Special Education or comparable high-needs setting (Preferred)
