The Division of Allergy and Immunology at Phoenix Children’s is seeking an Allergist/Immunologist to join our team of professionals. This position would be for a physician focused on immunology/inborn errors or immunity. The candidate will join 11 other providers (7 physicians and 4 advanced practice providers) at Phoenix Children’s and its satellites. In addition to the main hospital campus, we also see patients in the East Valley, Southwest Valley, and Northwest Valley. The practice is busy and growing with patient diversity ranging from common allergic disorders to complex cases in both allergy and primary immunodeficiencies. Two physicians currently lead efforts in immunology, inpatient and outpatient. A third immunology focused physician would aid in meeting the needs of patients in Phoenix and the surrounding areas. Education is an important aspect of the position as the clinic participates in the training of rotating pediatric residents. Phoenix Children’s has partnered with Mayo Clinic Arizona for a combined Allergy/Immunology fellowship, with clinics with fellows and regular interaction with Mayo Clinic Allergists/Immunologists through Grand Rounds, Case Conference and Journal Club. Physicians have academic faculty appointments through Mayo Clinic School of Medicine, University of Arizona College of Medicine, Phoenix and Creighton University School of Medicine. The clinic is actively involved in clinical and translational research in food allergy, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, asthma, and more. Prospective candidates should have an interest in participating in research efforts. The staff physician shall provide patient care services and will support Phoenix Children's mission of providing hope, healing and the best health care for children and their families. Position Duties
Patient Care Services – Provide patient care services for which the physician is clinically privileged, including but not limited to: direct patient care on inpatient and outpatient basis; subspecialty consultations and follow-up; diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures; care for urgent/emergent situations. Strive to achieve the best patient and family-centered care Support hospital patient satisfaction goals and division-specific targets Support and adhere to divisional patient safety and quality of care standards Practice Contemporary Evidence-based medicine or latest experience-based medicine Divisional Responsibilities – Establish and demonstrate effort to achieve annual physician goals and objectives (e.g., individual, division, hospital); support medical education programs and activities including direct supervision of trainees and allied health professionals, teaching rounds and conferences, participation in teaching and supervision of trainees, and participation in postgraduate continuing education; support research endeavors and programmatic growth; support satellite division efforts as appropriate. Professionalism – Treat colleagues, Phoenix Children’s employees and customers with courtesy, dignity and respect; promote safe, cooperative and professional health care environment; support Phoenix Children’s mission, vision and values including family-centered care, excellence in clinical care, leadership, collaboration, and accountability. Other activities – Serve as liaison to the professional community and general public as requested; conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside of Phoenix Children’s when beneficial to divisional goals; represent Phoenix Children’s professionally in medical and business communities; fulfill physical and mental skills requirements including communication, after-hours call responsibilities, and regular work hours.
