This position will be located in the Tokyo area.
Amazon seeks a Senior Operations Manager to join our Japan Amazon Logistics team. The goal of Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is to build a world‑class last mile operation delivering to customers. Amazon aims to exceed customer expectations by ensuring that orders are delivered as quickly, accurately, and cost‑effectively as possible, and we are expanding rapidly in Japan.
Key Job Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for safety, quality, performance, customer experience and people development for all delivery station operations.
Drive vision for the station team and create quality initiatives, process‑change initiatives, and other lean initiatives to enable the functional area and ultimately the DS to meet and exceed the business plan.
Problem‑solve to close gaps between performance and goals.
Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Ops Managers accountable for their performance and that of their departments/teams.
Manage an environment concerning the delivery of Amazon orders directly to customers, subject to ever‑rising volume and complexity, operating on a 24/7 basis.
Maintain day‑to‑day relationships with multiple Delivery Service Providers (DSPs).
Present operational metrics regularly to the senior leadership team.
Hire and develop top talent; create and implement a talent plan for the site, including talent acquisition, performance and career management, learning and development, succession planning, and employee engagement.
Leverage Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area.
Cultivate a strong culture and engagement throughout all levels of the delivery station team.
Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and across the network.
Work with key business partners such as Transport & Sortation, DSP Management, Finance, Loss Prevention, IT, HR, ACES, and Engineering to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in the area, and provide needed support and resources for other staff initiatives.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
10+ years of Operations experience (supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, retail, etc.).
Experience leading and managing a team of 10+ people and developing them.
Business‑level English.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong operations experience in a fast‑growing company/industry.
15+ years of Operations experience (supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, retail, etc.).
Previous experience leading a rapid expansion plan.
Proven record of delivering multi‑programs on time.
Excellent communication skills.
Business‑level Japanese.
