About the role:

The Principal Technical Product Owner of SuccessFactors is responsible for managing and prioritizing the product feature backlog and development for Employee Central. They work closely with the HR Technology team to develop detailed requirements, ensuring a clear understanding. This includes assessing the value of stories, epics, and themes to align with the overall product strategy. The role actively addresses roadblocks to ensure the successful completion of release and sprint goals.

Furthermore, they take a leadership role in product-release plans, setting expectations for the delivery of new functionalities. As product ambassadors, they share knowledge internally and externally, answering questions related to the product. The individual presents updates on COE calls and maintains a clear intake process to monitor requests and issues. Effective communication with internal and external customers, including clear timelines and expectations, is a key aspect of this role.

This role is also responsible for managing SuccessFactors securities, which involves designing, implementing, and managing access controls (roles, permissions) within the SuccessFactors HCM platform. Ensuring data privacy (GDPR, SOX), conducting audits, troubleshooting issues, and aligning security with HR/IT strategies for sensitive employee data.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Marlborough, MA or Arden Hills, MN office at least three days per week. Your responsibilities will include:

Systemic efficiencies and delivery of HCM functionality

Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for Employee Central

Develop detailed requirements and ensure they’re clearly understood by the Technology team

Assess value and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy

Actively mitigate roadblocks impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals

Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities

Serve as the product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions related to the product

Present updates on COE calls

Develop and maintain clear intake process to monitor requests and issues

Receive Business requests from employee data leads via intake process

High-level overview of items for SFGB

Communicate with internal and external customers with timelines and expectations

Strategic Road mapping

Define and manage long-term technical roadmaps (often 1–3 years) that align with enterprise architecture and business goals.

Prioritize items as they are presented, taking into account the effort, business necessity, and impact on employee experience

Management of security and compliance requirements

Create, assign, and maintain roles, profiles, and permission groups

Protect sensitive employee data (PII, health info) and ensure adherence to regulations (GDPR, SOX, IC)

Conduct security audits, investigate events, and enforce strong security measures based on findings

Handle security incidents, provide escalations, and manage communication

Manage security aspects of system upgrades, patches, and user administration

Partner with HR Technology and IT to define security requirements and best practices.

Required qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or related field

5+ years experience in product development and/or project management

In-depth knowledge of agile process and principles

Advanced SuccessFactors knowledge

Preferred qualifications:

Understanding of business value around feature/functions

Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills

Able to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder needs

Experience in HCM security models, permissions, and personas.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
