We are seeking an experienced Controller / Accounting Manager to lead and oversee the accounting and financial operations of a growing construction organization generating $80M–$100M+ in annual revenue. This role is critical to maintaining financial integrity, supporting strategic growth, and ensuring accurate project-level and company-wide financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, deep knowledge of construction accounting, and hands‑on expertise with Work in Progress (WIP) reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting Manage and review
WIP (Work in Progress) schedules , revenue recognition, and job cost reporting Ensure accurate and timely
monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for a high‑growth organization Maintain compliance with
GAAP , internal controls, and external regulatory requirements Prepare and present
financial statements and management reports to executive leadership Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring efficiency and professional development Partner with operations, project managers, and executives to analyze project performance and financial risk Oversee external audits, tax filings, and coordination with CPAs and financial advisors Support system optimization and ERP/accounting software improvements as the company scales Required Qualifications
7+ years of progressive accounting experience , preferably in construction or project‑based industries Proven experience managing accounting operations for organizations with
$80M–$100M+ in annual revenue Strong expertise in
construction accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting Hands‑on leadership experience managing accounting teams Advanced knowledge of
GAAP
and internal controls High proficiency with accounting systems and Excel Preferred Qualifications
CPA certification
(strongly preferred) Experience with construction ERPs (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Acumatica, or similar) Background in high‑growth or multi‑project environments Why Join Us
