Overview US Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior Budget Analyst to support the Federal Protective Service (FPS), to provide critical budget, accounting, and administrative support to Region 4 in Atlanta, GA. This role supports the FPS mission by managing financial transactions, analyzing program data, and helping senior leadership make informed financial and operational decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and skilled in financial systems and reporting within a government or federal contracting environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support FPS financial management and leadership staff by tracking, analyzing, and monitoring accounting and budget functions in the
Federal Financial Management System (FFMS) .
Apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to support a range of
budgetary, analytical, technical, and administrative functions .
Review, verify, and process
multi-million-dollar contract invoices , ensuring funds are obligated, documentation is complete, and payments are made in accordance with DHS/FPS procedures.
Conduct
account reconciliations , prepare documentation for
reclassifications or reprogramming actions , and support audit readiness efforts.
Maintain and update reports and data sets related to
expenditures, obligations, commitments, and reimbursable agreements , ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Assist with
Security Work Authorizations (SWAs) —initiate, monitor, reconcile, and close out transactions while ensuring proper documentation.
Perform
spend plan reviews , monthly billing analysis, and monitoring of
undelivered and unliquidated orders , providing clear and timely reporting to management.
Generate and maintain
financial reports
including G514 commitments and other analysis reports such as CM040, FM151, PM020, FM140, and FM085.
Support the
contract and obligation closeout process
by verifying documentation, identifying discrepancies, and preparing final reports.
Collaborate with Contracting Officer’s Representatives (CORs) and regional budget staff to prepare and submit financial documentation for
Protective Security Officer (PSO) contracts , security projects, and system repairs.
Maintain and frequently update
Exhibit 1
for guard contracts covering over 1,200 PSOs across multiple states and Pacific territories.
Process and track
official travel documentation
using Concur, supporting funding and compliance requirements.
Perform
data collection and statistical analysis
using FFMS, Webview, RMS, Excel, and Access to produce reports and dashboards supporting FPS operations.
Assist with
annual financial submissions, reconciliations, and closeout of appropriations
in coordination with FPS financial management leadership.
Support
special projects , research initiatives, and budget administrative duties for the Resource Management Branch (RMB) and Security Operations Branch.
Security Clearance
US Citizenship required.

Qualifications
Must have at least four (4) years of active experience in federal financial policy, procedures, regulations, and guidelines applicable to financial management programs, processes, and systems, with the skills and ability to apply such knowledge to a broad scope of complex assignments.
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) with at least
24 credit hours
in finance, accounting, quantitative methods, or a related field.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management in a government setting.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite
(Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Visio) and
Adobe Acrobat ; ability to learn DHS/FPS systems such as FFMS, Webview, RMS, and Concur.
Experience reviewing and processing
invoices, commitments, and obligations
in a federal financial system preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
Ability to handle sensitive information and work effectively across teams and levels of management.
