Overview
Our client is a leading energy infrastructure company seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their Solar Energy Infrastructure team. This 12-month contract position offers the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge utility‑scale solar, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), and power plant operations projects. The role combines remote flexibility with hands‑on project leadership, requiring periodic travel to the Juno Beach, FL headquarters, particularly during the initial 3-6 months. Key Responsibilities
Lead engineering assignments ranging from limited scope to advanced multi-disciplinary solar energy projects Perform project management duties including planning, organizing, and managing utility‑scale solar infrastructure projects Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to safety standards across all project phases Conduct technical analysis and engineering oversight for solar, BESS, and power plant operations Lead technical teams and coordinate cross‑functional project activities Support electrical/I&C engineering functions including electric distribution systems Ensure designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long‑term performance goals Assist with negotiations, performance tracking, and comprehensive project reporting Serve as an extension of the engineering team, providing technical expertise and guidance Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) 11-15 years of engineering experience, with significant focus on solar energy infrastructure Proven experience with utility‑scale solar projects and BESS systems Strong background in electrical distribution systems and power plant operations Experience leading technical teams and managing complex engineering projects Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in the energy sector Excellent project management and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities Ability to travel to Juno Beach, FL as required (more frequent initially) Florida residency or willingness to relocate preferred What We Offer
