Overview
Westchester Medical Center, the flagship quaternary care academic hospital of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible pulmonary and critical care medicine physician to join its academic faculty. This is a primarily inpatient-based position with a strong focus on critical care and inpatient pulmonary consultative services, along with a small outpatient component. The position offers the opportunity to practice at a high-acuity quaternary referral center with a robust academic mission. Key Responsibilities
Inpatient Critical Care and Pulmonary Services: Provide attending-level care in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and other specialized ICUs as needed. Manage complex, high-acuity critically ill patients, including those requiring advanced ventilatory support, extracorporeal therapies and multidisciplinary care. Provide inpatient pulmonary consultations for medically complex patients across the hospital. Collaborate closely with subspecialty teams, including cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, transplant and interventional services. Outpatient Pulmonary Care: Participate in a limited outpatient pulmonary clinic, tailored to the physician’s clinical interests and divisional needs. Evaluate and manage a broad range of pulmonary diseases, with access to comprehensive diagnostic and procedural resources. Academic and Teaching: Supervise and teach medical students, residents and fellows in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Participate in educational conferences, bedside teaching and academic mentorship. Engage in scholarly activity, quality improvement initiatives or clinical research based on individual interests and division needs. Responsibilities

Team Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, nurses and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated, high-quality care. Participate in divisional, departmental and hospital committees as appropriate. Participate in departmental initiatives and quality improvement projects and contribute to ongoing initiatives in quality, safety and clinical operations within critical care and pulmonary services. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records. Follow hospital guidelines for billing, coding and regulatory standards. Qualifications
MD or DO degree. Board certified/board eligible in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine. Additional sleep medicine certification or interest in sleep medicine is desirable but not required. Strong clinical, communication and teamwork skills. Strong clinical skills with comfort managing high-acuity, complex patients. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and academic medicine.
