This position performs a variety of ultrasound imaging procedures to provide data for diagnosis and monitoring of disease and injuries in accordance with all applicable standards, regulations, and licensing requirements. Requires competency in a variety of equipment and technology. Performs duties in a range of acute care pediatric-centered settings. Position Duties

Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients for interpretation by a radiologist. Determines proper technique and positioning to ensure optimal results in accordance with all applicable standards, protocols, and procedures. Follows department triage guidelines based on patient acuity and exam prioritization. Maintains a safe environment for patients and families, and advocates appropriately. Identifies and troubleshoots machine malfunctions to ensure continuous proper and safe operations of ultrasound equipment. Reports service needs and preventive maintenance issues as appropriate. Creates a detailed report to include pertinent medical history, ultrasound findings, and measurements for presentation to interpreting physicians. Report is clear, concise, and grammatically correct. Interacts professionally and projects a positive image of the ultrasound team. Provides ultrasound safety information to patients, families, and all other affected parties to ensure thorough understanding of the study being performed. Maintains professional and technical competency through the continual pursuit of knowledge and self‑improvement by remaining apprised of current literature, practices, and new developments in the field of ultrasound. Performs finalizing functions using radiology information system (RIS) to facilitate timely and accurate results and charge capture. Archives records in accordance with Radiologist(s) specifications. Participates in re‑stocking and room turnover to provide for efficient, effective, and safe department operations. Follows established infection prevention policies and procedures for proper transducer cleaning. Performs miscellaneous job‑related duties as requested. Phoenix Children's Mission, Vision & Values

Education

Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program (Required) Experience Completion of an ultrasound clinical rotation through an ultrasound program (Required) Previous pediatric experience (Preferred) Special Skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment, both within the department and within the organization, to provide the best family‑centered care through effective communication and operational efficiency (Required) Additional Requirements ARDMS registered in at least one of the following: OB/GYN, Abdomen, Neuro, Vascular, Pediatrics, Musculoskeletal (Required) Vascular registry required within 12 months of hire (RVT preferred over RVS) (Required) Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (Required) Physical Requirements & Occupational Exposure/Risk Potential
