Performs clinical duties in keeping with established policies and procedures, which includes routine office procedures and testing, administration of medications, and assisting physicians. Keeps an accurate and concise record of patient observations, treatments and procedures administered; documents findings in the medical record. Recognizes and anticipates urgent or emergent patient situations and responds appropriately. Identifies patient education needs and may assist in patient teaching as to appropriate health maintenance and management of illness. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other members of the health care team. Oversees quality control and quality measures with the clinical team with the practice manager. Orders and maintains medical supplies. Performs or assists with other assignments, as required including staff training, clinical staff schedules, clinical work flow development and coordinates directly with the practice manager as needed to ensure open communication with all departments within the practice.

Education Certificate of Healthcare - Required

Experience 3-5 Years clinical, hospital or office practice setting - Required

License & Certification Professional Certification - Required

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Preferred

Core Job Functions Vital signs are taken on each patient, on each visit and input into Meditech. Verifies and updates patients clinical record on each visit.

Follows policies and procedures for routine office procedures, test, administration of medications and assisting providers up to and including IV therapy. Recognizes and anticipates urgent and emergent patient situations and responds appropriately.

Identifies patient education needs and may assist in patient teaching as to appropriate health maintenance and management of illness. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other members of the health care team.

All controls will be run according to policy and procedure. All specimen collection will be done according to policy and procedure. All proficiency testing and quality control assurance will be done according to policy and procedure.

Other duties as assigned include staff training, working directly with the practice manager and providers on clinical workflow developments, quality monitoring with the clinical team including report oversight, ordering clinical medical supplies, vaccine and injectable inventory management, QIM compliance and report review, staff schedules and covering internal clinical positions as needed. The Clinical Coordinator will work directly with providers, and the office manager to ensure good communication and efficient operations occur within the practice.
