Job title and summary originally provided. ThisSenior analyst position supports clinical information systems aligned with UC Davis Health goals. This position is responsible for analysis, design, implementation, maintenance and high-level technical support of assigned clinical applications. Incumbent collaborates with technology infrastructure teams to assess and support application; collaborates with faculty in hospital departments and clinics for implementation and support of complex distributed clinical information systems and multiple ancillary/patient care systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Epic certificate Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, Claims (HB,PB), or charge router. Bachelor's degree in health sciences, information technology, computer science, or related area; and/or equivalent combination of experience/training. Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of clinical practices and principles. Demonstrated ability to gather information from multiple sources and analyze applicability and appropriateness. Demonstrated ability to develop workflows and integrate technology into clinical or operational workflows. Proficient in office automation software (word processing, spreadsheets, visual presentation, etc.). Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and change management skills to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

Broadly encompassing or highly in-depth knowledge of 1-2 areas of focus in clinical applications specialty areas related to revenue cycle. Experience implementing and supporting electronic medical record systems. Knowledge of operations, systems and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation supporting healthcare revenue cycle. Academic institution or large integrated health system experience. Experience working with clinical information systems or system implementation teams for complex projects and/or application development. Experience working with interfaced/integrated multi-vendor applications. Participation in the implementation of an activity or strategy in a department, hospital or system environment. Leading a team of people, whether in a project manager role or another position is a key aspect of project management experience. Experience demonstrating knowledge of business operations and end-user requirements to improve or develop system design and training projects. Ability to apply advanced problem-resolution skills to highly complex issues, quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner. Advanced ability to serve as a technical leader and information resource, and to work collaboratively with key personnel and management, providing guidance and recommendations on systems, improvements, upgrades, and industry advances and trends. Skills to learn assigned applications and meet proficiency testing requirements, and to maintain certification in assigned applications. Managed Hospital Billing and/or Orders implementations from the discovery phase to go-live with Health Organizations utilizing Epics Clinical Charging Methods. Familiar with most of the Clinical Orders Charging methods and working directly with the Clinical Analyst in managing the Charging workflows. Assisted Organizations with their implementations by preparing and testing integrated charging workflows to ensure revenue neutrality at go-live. Manage stakeholder relationships and ensuring satisfaction with project outcomes. Skills such as risk management, mitigations strategies and conflict resolution for managing projects.
