Salary Range:
$60,000 - $92,000 depending on experience
The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Whitehall seeking Tool Makers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to plan and execute tool fabrication.
Fabricate, machine, and assemble precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
Operate a variety of machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC equipment.
Perform routine maintenance, repair, and modification of existing tooling.
Inspect finished tools for accuracy, functionality, and adherence to quality standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues impacting manufacturing processes.
Select appropriate materials and heat treatments for optimal tool performance.
Recommended Qualifications
Experience operating and programming precision machining equipment (manual and CNC mills, lathes, grinders, EDM).
Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications.
Strong understanding of metrology and skilled in using precision measuring instruments.
Proven ability to build, repair, and maintain complex tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
Completion of a formal Tool Maker apprenticeship or equivalent 5+ years of relevant experience.
Bonus Qualifications
Proficiency with advanced CAD/CAM software.
Experience with multi-axis CNC programming and operation.
Familiarity with CMM programming and advanced metrology techniques.
Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
